Returning to Merkin Hall after sold-out performances last season, the Grammy-nominated vocal ensemble brings their signature virtuosity to repertoire from early to modern. A place inhabited by the moon and stars, by solitude, dreams, fears and prayers, the night has given us centuries of exquisite poetry and music. Celebrating the release of VOCES8’s newest album with Decca Classics, this nocturnal program has a wide-ranging repertoire stretching from Venetian Renaissance composer Giovanni Croce to contemporary U.S. composers Taylor Scott Davis and Dan Forrest, and includes selections from arrangements of pop and jazz feature swing tunes, ballads and even James Bond songs.
