Chamber Music for Adults
Share your love of music by playing in a chamber music ensemble! Our experienced coaches give you the guidance you need for intensive study of the chamber music repertoire. Ensembles comprise various combinations of instruments including piano, woodwinds and strings. Pre-formed ensembles are also welcome. Each session includes one hour of rehearsal and one hour of coaching with the group's faculty coach. During fall and spring semesters, chamber groups can take place on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays with other days available upon request.
Chamber Music for Young People
Instrumentalists with strong technical ability on their instrument have the opportunity to play and perform together in small chamber combinations. Students participating in chamber music are also required to have strong sight-reading skills. Chamber groups are formed in the beginning of the academic year, though placement during the year is also possible. Groups may be selected to perform in ChamberFest in Merkin Hall. Students may also participate in a variety of String Ensembles.
For information about placement sessions, please call 212 501 3360 or email lucymosesschool@kaufmanmusiccenter.org to sign up for a 15 minute placement slot.
